About Company Shark

Affordable UK company intelligence, built by someone who needed it.

Company Shark began as a tool I built for myself. I needed a faster, simpler way to find newly-incorporated UK companies and pull together the details that matter — without wrestling with clunky interfaces or paying a fortune for it.

Friends started asking to use it. The more people I showed it to, the clearer it became that this wasn't just a personal convenience — it was genuinely valuable. Other companies were charging a lot of money for the same kind of data, often behind complicated, bloated software.

So I made a decision: keep the price as low as I possibly could, and keep the experience simple. A clean, easy-to-use interface. One-click exports. And company data enrichment that goes a step further — enhancing the raw Companies House record with the phone numbers and email addresses you actually need to make contact.

That's still the goal today: powerful UK company data, presented simply, priced fairly. Whether you're a one-person business or a growing sales team, Company Shark is built to help you find your next customer before your competitors do.

Where our data comes from

Every company record on Company Shark originates from the official UK register held by Companies House, the government registrar of UK companies. We index the public register — more than five million active companies — so what you see reflects the official record: company name and number, status, registered office, incorporation date, SIC codes, officers and filing history. We don't alter the underlying facts; we make them faster to search, filter and export.

How contact enrichment works

Our MAX+ enrichment is best-effort and transparent. For each company we try to find a corporate phone number and a role-based email address (such as info@ or sales@) by reading the company's own website and freely-accessible search-engine results — never by buying personal data. Find rates are typically 30–70% depending on how established a business is; a company incorporated last week often has no web presence yet. We don't fabricate contact details, and the accuracy score we show is honest by design: it reflects genuine confidence in a match, not marketing.

What Trading Signals are

Trading Signals are an observational0–100 score derived purely from a company's public Companies House record — filing history, accounts status, company age and similar signals. They are an indication to help you prioritise, not financial advice, a credit score, or a statement about any company's solvency.

Company Shark is a trading name of Kernow Digital Ltd, registered in England & Wales (Company No. 14041056), Duke Street, Launceston, PL15 8HD.
